Project description
The proposed project is comprised of several different, but essential necessary to arm a child for a life long of academic, social and healthy outcome in life.
Education
Our goal is to ensure that those children enrolled in the program are ready to begin school. Educational standards are the highest quality child development program based on the internationally acclaimed, research-based high scope curriculum. This curriculum in fully outlined in national performance standards for the United State.
Health
Health is seen as an important factor in a child’s ability to thrive and develop. Program provides screenings to evaluate a child’s overall health, then help to ensure regular health check-ups, including dental care. We also teach good practices in oral health, hygiene, nutrition, personal care, and safety.
Transportation
Providing transportation to and from school will ensure the safety and transportation necessary to participate. Without transportation, students may have to walk for miles to attend.
Social
The social competence of our students is a big part of our goal, based on Head Start performance standards; social competence is “a child’s everyday effectiveness in dealing with both his or her present environment and later responsibilities in school and life. School competence takes into account the interrelatedness of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.”
Monitoring
Maintaining an open book policy, our grantee will always have complete access to our student, staff and accounting records to monitor effectiveness and accountability
Evaluation
To determine whether project objectives are being met, we will formally evaluate and document the knowledge of the students when they are entering the program, and leaving the program. We will compare our exiting students knowledge with others enters kindergarten to evaluate whether our students are armed with more academic building block to succeed.
We will also track our students through their school years and compare their academic achievements to others in their similar social situation to determine if our intervention is making a difference
Outside monitoring and evaluation of effectively is also welcomed.
Future funding
This is an ongoing project that will always need funding to survive. Our fundraising committee is dedicated to continual fundraising projects to maintain and increase the lever of service that we provide
